Demonic Actions, Christian Persecution, and Our Call to Glorify God
The world we live in is not neutral. Every day we witness evidence of spiritual warfare breaking out in the physical realm, from growing hostility toward believers to the horrifying reality of Christians being killed for their faith. As Charlie Kirk recently reminded his audience, persecution is not a distant, historical footnote. It is happening right now. Around the world, men, women, and children are being murdered for their belief in Jesus Christ.
These acts are not random. They are not merely the result of “bad politics” or “cultural differences.” They are demonic actions, driven by Satan’s hatred for God and His people. Scripture tells us clearly that the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). When we see Christians being killed simply because they follow Christ, we are staring directly at the reality of evil in action.
But this reality also confronts us with an urgent truth: our time on this earth is not about living however we please. It is not about comfort, self-indulgence, or building our own kingdoms. Our purpose is far greater: we are here to glorify God with our lives.
Our True Purpose: Glorify God, Not Ourselves
The culture around us whispers (and sometimes even shouts) the message that life is about me. “Live your truth.” “Follow your heart.” “Do whatever makes you happy.” While these slogans may sound harmless, they reveal a dangerous lie. Scripture makes it clear: we were created by God and for God (Colossians 1:16). Our lives are not our own; we were bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20).
That means that our ultimate calling is not to live however we want, but to glorify Him in everything we do. Whether in our work, our families, our ministries, or our daily choices, the heartbeat of our lives should be: How can I honor God? How can I reflect His character to the world?
When Christians are persecuted, or even killed for their faith, it is a sobering reminder that following Jesus is not about chasing comfort. It is about radical obedience, even when it costs us everything.
Good vs Evil: A Spiritual Battle
We must not overlook the fact that persecution is part of a larger war. Scripture tells us that we are not wrestling against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this present darkness (Ephesians 6:12). The killing of Christians is not simply the work of human hands; it is fueled by spiritual darkness.
And that means we, too, must choose which side we are fighting for. Will we passively go along with the culture, chasing pleasure and ease, or will we stand on the side of good (God’s side) even when it costs us?
Choosing to fight for good means:
👉refusing to compromise on truth, even when it’s unpopular.
👉standing boldly for Christ in our workplaces, schools, and communities.
👉praying diligently for persecuted believers around the world.
👉living lives that bear witness to God’s holiness, love, and power.
Every day, we are confronted with choices that either align us with the kingdom of God or with the agenda of the enemy. Neutrality is not an option.
Diligence in Our Walk with God
If our purpose is to glorify God and fight for good, we cannot afford to be casual about our faith. The times are too urgent, and the enemy is too real. Scripture repeatedly calls us to diligently pursue a relationship with God.
That diligence looks like:
👉Daily prayer and Scripture – Meeting with God every day is not optional. It is our lifeline. Through His Word and prayer, we gain the wisdom, strength, and discernment to resist evil.
👉Worship and obedience – Glorifying God is not just about singing on Sundays; it is about living every day in obedience to Him. Every act of kindness, every choice to resist sin, every moment of trust is worship.
👉Fellowship with believers – We are not called to fight this battle alone. God gave us the church for encouragement, accountability, and strength.
👉Spreading the Word boldly – The Great Commission is not optional. We are commanded to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). In a world full of demonic deception, proclaiming the truth of Christ is an act of resistance and victory.
Why This Matters Now
Charlie Kirk and others sounding the alarm about Christian persecution are reminding us that the battle is here and now. While some of us may never face martyrdom, many believers already are. Their courage should not make us shrink back in fear, but rather rise up with urgency.
If others are willing to give their lives for Christ, can we not give our comfort? Our reputation? Our time? Can we not stand boldly in our homes and communities, living with such clarity that people know exactly where we stand?
The reality of demonic persecution should strip away our excuses. It should awaken us to the fact that life is not about leisure, but about His mission.
Living for God’s Glory
At the end of the day, our purpose is clear: glorify God with our lives. Not ourselves. Not our plans. Not our dreams. Him.
This means asking:
👉does my life point people to Jesus?
👉do my words, choices, and actions reflect His truth?
👉am I living for His Kingdom, or am I building my own?
If the answer convicts us, that is grace. God is inviting us back into alignment with His will. And if the answer is yes, then the call is to keep pressing forward, diligently, knowing that the world desperately needs His light.

We are living in a time when good and evil are becoming increasingly clear. Demonic actions, like the killing of Christians, are a stark reminder that the enemy is real. But so is our God.
Let us not waste our time with living for ourselves. Let us glorify God in every area of our lives. Let us fight for good with courage and faith. Let us pursue Him daily and spread His Word boldly.
Because when the world looks at us, they should not see people living for their own comfort. They should see people shining with the hope, power, and glory of the living God.
